CST STUDIO SUITE 2010 Highlights
The 2010 release of CST STUDIO SUITE was shipped in January. By now, we hope, everyone has experienced the look and feel of our new version.
We would like to take this opportunity to draw your attention to some of its major new capabilities.
There are also many improvements which could easily escape unnoticed. Have you already tried all the new interactive features for picking and
unpicking, local modification and manipulating the working coordinate system? Or have you met the CST voxel family? Have you noticed the simplified
definition of analytical surface and curves? There are many more things you can explore.
- CST MWS
- T -solver
- Arbitrary order dispersive material modeling
- Domain decomposition for cluster computing, also in combination with GPU computing.
- F- solver
- 3rd and mixed order elements
- Sensitivity and yield analysis for multiple parameters in one single simulation run
- New asymptotic A-Solver for RCS simulation of electrically very large structures
- CST MICROSTRIPES now fully integrated
- CST DESIGN STUDIO - Now part of the standard CST STUDIO SUITE license
- CST MPHYSICS STUDIO - Thermal (incl bioheat) and mechanical stress analysis
You can find more information at cst.com/2010. A recording of our 2010 webinar is also available, showing many new features using impressive
applications. It also clearly demonstrates the advantages of our complete technology approach, providing and interfacing the most appropriate
solution technology for various tasks.
European UGM, deadlines approaching fast
CST's next European User Group Meeting will be held in Darmstadt, Germany, 19-21 April 2010. This conference offers you a great opportunity
to advance your simulation skills, exchange ideas with other users, and talk with CST staff about future developments.
Several deadlines are approaching fast!
Bookings made before 8th March will benefit from:
- The UGM early booking discount
- The Welcome Hotel reduced rate
- Beating the presentation submission deadline

agenda and on-line registration
Call for Contributions
We are interested in your work with the CST STUDIO SUITE product family. If you would like to contribute to this event, to share your
experiences, and to discuss your questions in a forum of your peers, please submit a text abstract of between 100 and 200 words.
Submission deadline: 8th March 2010
CST Workshop Series 2010
CST announces a customer centric one-day seminar series focused on successful design using the latest 3D electromagnetic simulation software.
EM simulation has become an essential and easy to use part of any high frequency or high speed design workflow. This workshop series will
explore how design engineers can best exploit the technology for their own design area, be it RF/microwave/antenna, EDA/SI, or EMC/EMI.
Application based throughout, the workshops will focus on local industry requirements and how simulation can significantly improve throughput
and reduce costs. Partner presentations will feature as well as in-depth application studies.
The CST Workshop Series 2010 will run in Europe, North America and Asia, starting in March. Agenda details, dates and locations can be found
on the CST website

University Publication Award 2010
The CST University Publication Award is an annual grant to university institutes and researchers for their work in the application of 3D EM
field simulation. The winners are awarded with extensions to their CST STUDIO SUITE installations.
Over the last couple of years we have enjoyed reading an increasing number of interesting papers on diverse topics from the world's upcoming
university researchers.
Prerequisites for participation include that the papers are authored or co-authored by academic researchers, published either in scientific
journals or conference proceedings, and the numerical results are entirely or in part obtained through simulation using CST software products.
Submissions are evaluated on a number of criteria including originality of the application or the theory, clarity of presentation, as well as
the skilful usage of CST software features.
Apply Now
If you would like to apply for this award, send your contributions, published in the English language between April 1st 2009 and March 31st
2010, in electronic format, stating place of publication, before April 15th 2010.

www.cst.com - Application article spotlight
The range of applications illustrated on the CST website is being extended continuously. The application article spotlight in this newsletter
describes Signal Integrity (SI) analysis with CST PCB STUDIO™.
This article highlights the modeling and simulation of signal integrity effects with CST PCB STUDIO™ (CST PCBS). It explains how the
technology (layer stackup) can be determined and which modeling options are available.
You can read the full article on the
