Thermal Solvers
Thermal problems can be solved in CST EMS with the steady state thermal solver or the transient thermal solver.
Typical applications are to derive the temperature distribution in electrical devices such as bus bars,
electrical machines, transformers or microwave and induction heating.

The heat sources can be defined directly in the thermal solvers or electrical losses
can be used from previously performed current field, eddy current or microwave simulations.
The physical effects heat conduction, convection and radiation can be considered.
The transient solver allows to simulate heating-up and cooling-down of structures as function of time.
Because of the inclusion of the bio heat equation, the CST EMS transient solver is also applicable in the bio electromagnetic area.
