Abstract:
A slot antenna developed for near-range communications in the 24 GHz frequency range is presented. It is compatible with the common planar flip-chip type of integration and radiates laterally providing 90-degree coverage. The antenna consists of a resonant structure thus acting as a filter as well. Basic antenna design is explained and tolerances in practical realization are studied.
