Abstract:
In this paper the effects of electromagnetic interaction between human body and laptop integrated antennas operating in the ISM 2.4GHz band are numerically studied from the viewpoint of both antenna performance and EM dosimetry. The effects of the proximity of the user on the antenna operation is evaluated in terms of input matching, far field radiation pattern and radiation efficiency degradation. The exposition of human tissues to EM radiation, expressed in terms of Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), is evaluated when a commercially viable antenna (IFA) is used.
