Abstract:
A theoretical analysis is presented for two cases of multi-element tuning structures consisting of a variable-length and either one or two full-height cylindrical posts in rectangular waveguide. Theoretical results are shown to be in good agreement with simulation results. An investigation into the reactance characteristics is reported and it is shown that a much enhanced reactive tuning range is achievable compared to that of a single variable-length tuning post.
