Abstract:
The receiver circuitry for a UWB system is vulnerable
to being damaged by strong narrowband signals from nearby
sources such as WLAN hubs. For this reason it is necessary to
employ some form of filter. In order to save space this filter
should ideally be integrated into the radiating element of the
antenna. There is a great deal of literature on this topic. This
paper announces two new antennas. In comparison with previous
work the main advantaging this contribution include 1) the
simplicity with which the devices could be redesigned, 2) the high
quality factor associated with the notch band, and 3) low level of
insertion loss at the centre of the notch band.
