Abstract:
For several years now, the widespread use of radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications have generated a public concern about potential health hazards of these applications. This paper describes a preliminary feasibility study of an exposure setup that can be used in the study of possible genotoxic effects of (modulated) electromagnetic fields. In the
construction the principles of hard surfaces are used. The aim is to get a uniform specific absorption rate (SAR)
distribution inside the different Petri dishes which are placed inside the setup. As a result of this study it can be stated
that using a hard surface wall the homogeneity of the SAR distribution can be improve. Therefore, this exposure setup
is very suitable for future exposure experiments
