Abstract:
This paper presents a systematic methodology for the synthesis of SPICE
compatible circuits for PCB discontinuities modeling. Measured or numerically
evaluated S-parameters are used to obtain the frequency dependent matrix
characterization of the structure to be analyzed. Frequency responses are then
approximated with rational functions suitable for a stable and passive
realization. The equivalent circuit network is finally synthesized and
incorporated in a commercial circuit solver that allows both frequency and time
domain simulations.
