Abstract:
A comparison of four differnet Electromagnetic Band-gap Structures (EBG) has been studied and presented in this paper. The comparison of stop band of four differnet types of structures (Triangular, Pentagonal, Hexagonal and Cylindical) has been presented for the frequency close to 5GHz. The proposed structures have been simulated on the Computer Simulation Technology (CST) Microwave Studio. The simulated result shows that out of above mentioned structures, Electromagnetic Band-gap (EBG) Structure with periodic cylindrical air pockets can achieve better performance in terms of stop-band (S21). This structure can be used in the microwave circuits and antenna applications to improve the performance of the device.
