In the present paper the modeling of a resistance spot welding (RSW) system is presented. The numerical field solution based on the 3D finite formulation is devoted to the evaluation of the equivalent
circuit parameters and to the estimation of external magnetic fields. The identification of the equivalent circuit is important in the efficiency performance of the RSW and the evaluation of environmental field pollution is crucial for the human and apparatuses protection. Two different resistance spot welding working condition are considered: AC and DC current. Some experimental analysis in some part of the RSW system are presented in order to validate the proposed procedure.
