Aim of this contribution is to investigate the influence of the mutual coupling among neighbouring antennas in UWB MIMO systems on the transfer functions of the UWB antennas, UWB pulse shaping, effective Channel Impulse Response (CIR) and the overall system performance. Comparison between the characteristics of the isolated elements and coupled ones using Electromagnetic (EM) simulation tool and measurements is presented.
