Stellenbosch, South Africa, and Darmstadt, Germany, March 17 2017, Magus (Pty) Ltd (Magus) and CST – Computer Simulation Technology AG (CST) announce the release of Antenna Magus 2017, the latest version of the leading antenna design tool. The latest edition includes several new antennas and design updates.

Antenna Magus includes over 300 antennas, and the Specification-based workflow introduced in 2016 allows users to find, design and export suitable antennas based on their requirements. The 2017 version introduces 13 new types. Four specialized horn antennas have been added – the smooth spline profiled pyramidal horn, the 4 waveguide-fed dual polarized pyramidal horn antenna, the waveguide-fed pyramidal array and the TEM horn with magnetic dipoles (or “Koshelev antenna”).

Darmstadt, Germany, March 14 2017 – Computer Simulation Technology AG (CST) invites users to the European User Conference (EUC) 2017 at the Science & Congress Center darmstadtium, Darmstadt for a program of technical presentations and workshops. The conference will see keynote speeches on virtual environments, modern antenna design, lean engineering, and simulation in space programs.

The CST EUC offers a collaborative and educational environment where engineers using CST STUDIO SUITE® tools can exchange ideas and talk with CST staff about future developments. The main EUC sessions will run from April 27 - 28 and will feature focus sessions for different application areas, such as electromagnetic compatibility and antennas, and industries such as bio-medical devices and energy. In addition, on April 26, 2017, we will host a one-day Aerospace Workshop at the Science & Congress Center darmstadtium, with CST and customer presentations focused on the needs of the aerospace industry.

Darmstadt, Germany, March 15 2017, Computer Simulation Technology (CST) announces the release of the 2017 version of the electromagnetic simulation tool, CST STUDIO SUITE®. The latest edition includes a range of new tools for synthesis and analysis and improvements to existing features.

Darmstadt, Germany, September 29, 2016: CST – Computer Simulation Technology AG (CST) announces the acquisition of Aurora Software and testing, SL (AURORASAT), a technology leading provider of tools for the analysis, synthesis and design of passive microwave components.

AURORASAT software products have been serving the RF and microwave industries for the last 10 years. FEST3D is a tool for the analysis and design of passive microwave components based on waveguide and coaxial cavity technology using advanced simulation algorithms for extremely low simulation times. Meanwhile, SPARK3D is the industry standard for the analysis of high power RF breakdown for space and ground applications.

Darmstadt, Germany, July 15, 2016:  CST – Computer Simulation Technology AG (CST) announces the acquisition of a source code license for the Portunus® system simulator, a product of Adapted Solutions GmbH and the start of a multi-year collaboration contract.

System simulation helps engineers working on applications such as electrical, energy systems, power electronics and drives with many elements interacting in multiple domains. The Portunus simulator models systems using approaches such as network, block diagram and state machine in order to simulate electrical, mechanical and thermal systems in time and frequency domain as well as for steady-state (DC calculation) and operating point (OP). It also supports VHDL-AMS and SPICE to exchange models with other simulation tools and offers comprehensive thermal and power electronics component libraries.

Darmstadt, Germany and San Francisco, CA, USA, May 24, 2016: CST – Computer Simulation Technology (CST) announces the newest release of CST STUDIO SUITE® – Student Edition, a special free version of its flagship electromagnetic simulation package especially for students, at IMS 2016, booth #739. This release adds a low-frequency solver especially suitable for learning about eddy currents.

The CST STUDIO SUITE – Student Edition contains the versatile time domain, frequency domain and static and thermal solvers, and is supported by a set of online examples showing how classic textbook problems can be solved with simulation. The software can be incorporated into the coursework for a class, but the online examples mean that it can also be used by individual students for independent extracurricular learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The CHT Solver offers accurate thermal and air flow simulations for electromagnetic systems.

Heating is an important consideration for many high-power applications and compact electronic systems. Excess heat can damage components and cause thermal expansion that detunes sensitive components. Natural convection and fan cooling can significantly affect how a component heats up, which makes understanding the air flow through and around a device a key part of multiphysics design.

Freevolt, which was launched by Drayson Technologies in September 2015, is the first viable power source of its kind.

Santa Clara, CA, USA, January 21, 2016: CST – Computer Simulation Technology (CST) and
Wild River Technology (WRT) present first results of their cooperation, aimed to
demonstrate the correlation of simulation and measurement for high speed digital design
at DesignCon 2016, Booth # 627.

New technologies such as DDR 4 and in particular SerDes are pushing electronics to higher speeds.
This has increased the need for 3D electromagnetic field simulation in the design process to identify
and help avoid signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) issues. To simulate devices accurately,
design engineers working in this field require accurate broadband models for interconnects and
transmission lines, which need to include effects such as conductor surface roughness and
dispersion in dielectric materials. Being able to validate the results against benchmarks increases
the engineer’s confidence in the simulation.
