  • Engineering Electro-mobility of the Future Workshop:
    Electromagnetic Simulation for Smart, Safe, Connected Vehicles

  • The automotive industry is in an essential state of flux; Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V), Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomous driving, electric drive and wireless charging are the driving forces of today’s innovations. Electronics is transforming the automotive experience with over 80% of the innovation happening in electronics and software. With a prediction of 50% of the total automobile cost to come from electronics in the vehicle, it is critical to obtain optimized product designs within the tight constraints of costs and time to market.

    The objective of this workshop is to discuss the requirements coming from the new generation of vehicles focusing on the design and optimization of electronics, electric drive and powertrain for which electromagnetic (EM) simulation plays a key role. As all electronics have to comply with legal regulations, they must meet the EMC requirements and ensure the safety of the driver and passengers in the car both of which can be achieved through virtual prototyping and testing.

    This workshop is part of the SIMULIA UK Regional User Meeting 2018.

    The electromagnetics workshop (includes CST Studio Suite and OPERA) will take place on October 17. The SIMULIA RUM runs October 17 – 18.
