L’USB type C PD va révolutionner dans un futur proche le monde de l’alimentation à découpage de quelques watts de puissance jusqu’à 100W ! Interopérabilité (via un protocole de communication et de reconnaissance robuste) négociation des contrats de puissance pour s’adapter au mieux au besoin de la charge sont les maitres mots de cette évolution dans la conception des alimentations. Ce workshop en partenariat avec Würth Elektronik, STMicroelectronics et CST (Dassault Systèmes, SIMULIA) propose d’étudier en détail son fonctionnement au moyen de 4 sessions roulantes alliant théorie et pratique.

Quels sont les innovations et les nouveaux challenges à relever avec l’USB type C Power Delivery? Le standard permet la gestion de l’alimentation jusqu’à 100W en négociant 5V 1,5A jusqu’à 20V 5A ce qui nécessite d’appliquer des règles de sécurité en cas de défaillance éventuelle de la source, de plus le standard autorise le transfert de données jusqu’à 10Gb qui pourrait être de l’USB 3.1 mais aussi du display port ou même de l’HDMI. Les sessions 1 et 2 proposent de façon ludique d’approfondir l’USB type C PD ainsi qu’une de ses nombreuses applications qui est le « power sharing ».

La CEM est toujours un point délicat lors de la conception d’une alimentation à découpage, la fréquence de découpage ainsi que les éléments parasites des composants et du routage sont sources de bruit et ces niveaux de perturbation se doivent d’être réduits en deçà d’un minimum acceptable. Les sessions 3 et 4 proposent des méthodes d’investigation pour comprendre les sources des émissions conduites et les filtrer.
