Data Exchange Options

CST CABLE STUDIO® (CST CS) features a multitude of CAD import options. Reliable CAD interfaces are an important requirement for a smooth workflow. CST STUDIO SUITE® is renowned for its excellent CAD-data import capabilities and the sophisticated healing mechanisms which recover the integrity of flawed or non-compliant data. The latter aspect is particularly vital as the presence of one corrupted element can prevent the usage of the whole part.

The car chassis on the right was imported in NASTRAN format. The corresponding cable harness (dark blue) was derived from STEP AP212 via the KBL import filter. There are three connectors (yellow) on each side of the cable harness, each containing plug-ins with two connector pins. When double-clicking on the cable harness in the 3D graphic the wiring cross-section will be automatically displayed in a 2D graphic view.

CST CS creates SPICE-equivalent simulation models that are usually used within CST DESIGN STUDIO (CST DS) for time or frequency domain analyses. These models can also be exported easily into various formats e.g. for PSpice, HSpice, or Saber, thus providing you with great flexibility. Just decide on the desired format and the export will be started by a simple mouse click.
