The magnetostatic solver is suitable for the solution of linear and non-linear magnetic problems such as actuators and sensors, magnetic brakes, electrical machines such as motors, generators and transformers, magnets for accelerator physics etc.
Both hexahedral and tetrahedral mesh types are supported in the Magnetostatic Solver. This, as part of CST’s complete technology approach, allows the best mesh topology to be applied to the problem at hand. Automatic mesh adaption is available for both mesh types.
Various source types are available; Solid coils, current paths, permanent magnets, constant field source. Open as well as normal and tangential boundary conditions are available. Secondary quantities such as inductance and force can be automatically extracted from the simulation results.
