Image of the Dipole panel array. |
The dipole panel array includes a grid reflector, along with four dipoles and their respective quarter-wave baluns, which enable feeding of the structure using an unbalanced coaxial line. This practical and simple antenna is suited to low-cost and robust applications.
The equal amplitude, progressive phase excitation of the four-element array produces a circularly polarised pattern. The omnidirectional radiation pattern of the dipole element is transformed into a single broadside lobe through the addition of the reflector.

Typical 3D radiation pattern at the center frequency. |
|
Typical S11 performance of the antenna. |
