This popular medium-gain end-fire array consists of a number of co-axial circular loop elements which are close to resonance (kb ≈ 1, where k = 2π/λ0 and b is the radius of the loop, in other words: circumference ≈ λ0). It’s operating principle is similar to that of a Yagi-Uda array. It is a practical end-fire radiator in the HF, VHF and UHF ranges.
